The word Phuket dates back to a tamil word meaning Manikram or crystal mountain.This was dated back in 1025 AD.However as time went on Phuket became know as Junk Ceylon which is seen on old maps.Phuket was a way station between India and China for the seafarers to stop over.This Islands is based around the Andaman sea along Thilands southern and western coasts.
